The District General Hospital Monaragala is located 246 kilometers away from Colombo and majority of the people living in the area are designated as unprivileged. The hospitals Baby Care Unit is currently servicing approx. 400 child births per month.
With your generous support, on March 25th 2014 we have donated a Multi Para Monitor to Monragala Hospital. This is a result of a request from Dr Charaka Goonesekera (Consultant Paediatrician). This is the first equipment of its kind in history for Monaragala Hospital and this monitor can be used in two pediatric patients simultaneously. This unit worth over LKR 535, 000.00 is now in operation at Pediatric ICU.
It was great to see The DOT members and well-wishers voluntarily help this project to be successful. Goal of The DOT Charitable Foundation is to continue to make a difference in sick children’s lives with the help of well-wishers like you.
