We are pleased to inform that The DOT charitable Foundation has donated LKR 415,000 worth Philips Sure Signs VM4 Patient Monitor to the paediatric unit of Deniyaya Base Hospital.
Mr Palitha Ranawaka a philanthropist from Deniyaya, has arranged the handover ceremony on behalf of the DOT including a blessing by venerable monks. Doctors, nurses and other hospital staff and well-wishers attended the ceremony.
Dr Parami Gunasekera, Paediatric Consultant who coordinated with us, addressed the gathering. She stated that children who are getting treatment from the hospital are very lucky to have this kind of monitor since such equipment is only available in Lady Ridgeway and General Hospitals.
This monitor helps to check vital signs of a sick child such as body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, ECG wave, oxygen content of body etc.
Thank you for all your great support!

The District General Hospital Monaragala is located 246 kilometers away from Colombo and majority of the people living in the area are designated as unprivileged. The hospitals Baby Care Unit is currently servicing approx. 400 child births per month.
With your generous support, on March 25th 2014 we have donated a Multi Para Monitor to Monragala Hospital. This is a result of a request from Dr Charaka Goonesekera (Consultant Paediatrician). This is the first equipment of its kind in history for Monaragala Hospital and this monitor can be used in two pediatric patients simultaneously. This unit worth over LKR 535, 000.00 is now in operation at Pediatric ICU.
It was great to see The DOT members and well-wishers voluntarily help this project to be successful. Goal of The DOT Charitable Foundation is to continue to make a difference in sick children’s lives with the help of well-wishers like you. Together we are transforming lives and building brighter futures. But without you it just wouldn’t be possible. Thank you so much and we appreciate your continued support.
Below is a comment from Dr Charaka Goonasekera:
Many thanks for the kind donation. Most definitely, the monitor would be an added bonus for better management of these littlies who require special care.
